Fewer Delays

CargoSphere operated over 20 separate tracking systems acquired through M&A, each with incompatible data formats and APIs. Customers regularly complained about conflicting shipment status information and multi-hour delays in updates.
We built an event-driven pipeline that normalizes data from diverse sources into a shared schema. Apache Kafka handles the high-throughput ingestion, while a CDC pipeline kept legacy systems synchronized during the transition — a messier process than anticipated due to undocumented edge cases in older integrations.
Shipment data now flows into a single view without manual reconciliation. Update delays dropped from several hours to under a minute in most cases. CargoSphere used the new data foundation to pilot predictive ETA features, which contributed to a measurable reduction in missed delivery windows.
