Real-Time Trading Infrastructure
The Challenge

Meridian's legacy trading platform suffered from unpredictable latency spikes during peak market hours, causing missed execution windows. Their monolithic architecture struggled to scale horizontally, and compliance requirements demanded full audit trails — something the existing setup couldn't reliably provide.

Our Approach

We redesigned the core around CQRS with event sourcing to satisfy audit requirements. Geographic distribution across three regions brought failover times down significantly, though tuning the consensus protocol to meet their latency targets took several additional iterations beyond the initial estimate.

The Outcome

The platform now handles substantially higher order volumes with much more consistent latency. Deployment windows that used to require maintenance outages are now possible without downtime. The compliance team gained real-time transaction visibility, which had previously required manual reporting.
